Destinations as diverse as our students
RIC students get into the Russell Group in impressive numbers but also to a range of universities and art colleges that fit their unique personalities and interests
When our students leave RIC, they land in the most interesting places. Our student destinations are always diverse reflecting the individual nature of our annual student cohort and the different directions they have found.
They include students who have transferred for us for year 13, are on a one year A level retake programme or those on a fast track one year intensive course as well as those following conventional two year A level pathways.
Our students though don’t slavishly chase league table rankings but make informed decisions about university choices, demonstrating a characteristically RIC independence of thought.
One of our students recently turned down an offer from Cambridge University for Veterinary Science as she preferred the structure of the course at London's Royal Veterinary College.
One of our highest performing one year students who achieved 3 A*s in one year from scratch in Geography, Mathematics and Chemistry and is following his interests in climate change and sustainability by opting for a BSc in Environmental Science at UEA. One of our students won a scholarship to study basketball in Florida.
It’s not just university destinations that are celebrated. Some students have opted to go straight into the workplace, some follow apprenticeship schemes and one even recently joined the US Marines.
‘Exceptional’ UCAS support tailored to each individual, say parents – so no hang-ups or buy-ins to particular universities or pathways. Refreshingly, students with specific needs are advised to take into consideration the size, life and pace of any university on their wish list.
