What is the BEO?

The BEO is a national competition for secondary school students, designed to promote interest in economics and to identify students who may become future leaders in the field. The competition is run by Rochester Independent College (RIC) on behalf of the International Economics Olympiad  (IEO) Committee.

What does the BEO competition consist of?

The British Economics Olympiad consists of three stages. These are:

  • Stage 1: 50 Economics Questions. This is carried out online with a set time limit.
  • Stage 2: Financial Literacy. This consists of multiple choice questions with a set time limit.
  • Stage 3: Business case. Finally, individuals will need to put together a presentation of case solutions to a panel of judges at RIC.
